„But the prefixes dia and kata give us two entirely different flavors of krino. The prefix kata indicates toward, down, or against, while the prefix dia indicates through. Thus while diakrino indicates the type of assessment process involved in looking THROUGH something (i.e., what we typically call „discernment”), katakrino indicates the type of assessment involved in forming postulates DOWN toward or AGAINST something (which we typically call „passing judgment”).
